Full-Time STX Materials is seeking a motivated 1A Hot Mix Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Control team. This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and documenting asphalt materials to ensure compliance with TxDOT specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing accurate test results that directly impact the quality of our projects. Responsibilities Perform TxDOT hot mix asphalt quality control testing. Sample aggregates, asphalt mixtures, and RAP materials. Perform asphalt content testing, gradations, moisture testing, specific gravity testing, and density-related testing. Maintain accurate testing records and complete required documentation. Assist with mix production monitoring and plant quality control. Verify compliance with TxDOT specifications and approved mix designs. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration. Communicate test results with plant personnel, project management, and quality control supervisors. Follow all company safety policies and laboratory procedures. Work both in the laboratory and at the asphalt plant as needed.
