Safari is a state of the heart veterinary hospital and pet rehabilitation center. We are looking for an experienced tissue culture technician to support our veterinary stem cell laboratory. You will be responsible for processing adipose tissue samples in preparation for immediate therapy and culturing stem cells from individual patients for therapeutic use in dogs and cats. You will also be responsible for (but not limited to): Characterization of cells using immunofluorescence stains Counting cells and determining viability for therapeutic applications Cryopreservation and maintaining laboratory records and supplies PCR testing HPLC testing Safari offers an opportunity to use your laboratory experience to help restore function to paralyzed pets and to offer new regenerative therapy options. There is also the availability to cross train in our veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. Some weekends will be required. Education Bachelors degree or relevant experience Experience At least 1 year clean room experience, cell culture and plating Hard Skills Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to calculate chemical concentrations Record keeping Soft Skills Ability to work in a fast paced team environment Compassion for pets
