Job Description

Job description: Specimen Accessioner/ Testing Personnel PTI is a CLIA certified high complexity laboratory performing toxicology testing for personalized medicine. We genetically test for variations in a patient's ability to metabolize certain drugs and provide comprehensive urine drug screens confirmations. We utilize
LC-MS/MS
technology for quick sample turnaround assisting clinicians in their controlled substance medication monitoring programs. We are seeking a self-motivated, technically qualified and hardworking Specimen Accessioner/testing personnel to join our team. This position receives accessions, aliquots and prep urine specimens that come into the lab for testing and understand and follow bio-safely practices for handing human urine specimens. Responsibilities
  • Opens packages containing specimens upon arrival
  • Records and documents shipments details for all specimens.
  • Prepares all specimens received for testing as required
  • Verifies information on the requisition form to the specimen container.
  • Enters patients' demographics, clients information, and orders appropriate tests in the LIS system.
  • Match the accession labels to the correct specimen cup
  • Scan and save requisitions and related paperwork into the appropriate folders.
  • Responsible for identifying specimens that do not meet the testing requirements.
  • Prepares all specimens samples for storage, resolves, and documents problem specimens.
  • Prepares samples for LC/MS using pipettes
  • Performs LC/MS daily/weekly maintenance and load prepared samples Qualifications Qualified candidates will have a minimum: A Bachelor's degree in any science or related field with one year's experience in a clinical testing laboratory Preferred candidates will have bachelor's degree in science with lab experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential Must be US citizen or legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorships. Job type full time/ hours to be discussed with lab manager.
Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
