We're searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our laboratory team in Midland, TX . In this role, you'll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab. What You'll Do Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirements Complete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standards Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training provided Requirements What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field preferred Demonstrated experience in data entry, administrative, clerical, laboratory support, or documentation-focused roles involving accurate record keeping and information management Prior experience working in a laboratory, sample handling, or other regulated, high-volume processing environment preferred Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule & Travel Full-time, onsite position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule Flexibility to work beyond standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs require Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
