A Sleep Laboratory Technician, also known as a polysomnographic technician, performs tests and collects data on patients with sleep disorders. Responsible for giving patients explanations of the impending sleep tests and procedures, preparing equipment for the procedures, recording activities and analyzing results - all while working under the advisement of a clinical director and/or sleep technologist.

How you'll contribute A Sleep Technician who excels in this role: Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures. Performs testing and any additional testing required for the sleep disorder that is noted. Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources. What we're looking for Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a program in Polysomnography (or equivalent experience as a Polysomnographic Technician) Additional requirements include: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required. Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent. Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT). Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred. Hourly Range:
$23.98
