About the Role The Specimen Management Technician, working under direct supervision, is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, preparation, management, processing, shipping and/or storage of laboratory specimens in compliance with GLP guidelines, study protocols and SOPs. What You'll Do Here Responsible for working in compliance with GLP guidelines, protocols and SOPs. Coordinate with study directors, coordinators, pathologists, laboratory staff, and vivarium staff. Prepare, receive, centrifuge, separate and transfer/ship specimens according to SOPs and protocol design with limited supervision. Maintain and utilize laboratory equipment and instruments. Maintain chain of custody of all specimens processed and ensure timely transfer of specimens for analysis, archive, shipment or storage. Maintain documentation of procedures and equipment used and performs quality control of forms and logs. Maintain laboratory/shipping supplies. Maintain cleanliness of the department areas. Cross-train to perform other duties within specimen management. Assist all areas of specimen management as well as other departments. What You'll Need to Succeed High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous laboratory or regulated environment preferred. Knowledge of current International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) transportation safety requirements preferred. Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; adapts easily to new software. English proficiency both written and verbal; general reading, writing and verbal communication skills. High level detail-orientation with problem solving and troubleshooting skills required. Strong communication skills preferred. Basic math skills. Watson system knowledge preferred. Strong cross-team collaboration. Flexibility and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. What We Offer The pay range estimated for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
