POLYSOMNOGRAPH SLEEP TECH

• Sleep Lab Gillette , WY Clinical Non-Nursing Part Time , Nights , 6:30pm to 6:30am Posted 10/02/2026 Req # 7395 JOB SUMMARY Sleep Technologist works under the direction of the RT Manager and Medical Director. Performs all duties required to support and coordinate departmental functions. Sleep Technologist will participate in achieving the department goals of meeting CCMH mission, vision and values. Sleep Technologist practice according to the rules and regulations of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Board of Sleep Medicine, and the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a polysomnographic technician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists with the initiation, maintenance, billing, and completion of the admission and discharge process. Exhibits excellent customer service. Responsible for order verification and accurate EMR documentation. Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel and patient care information. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Maintains professional standards, completes required continuing education/certificates (10 CEUs per calendar year). Responds to after hour call back. Participates in quality improvement Performs pre and post patient and equipment calibrations, as well as decontamination of equipment/assembly. Assists with patient and family education. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to recognize and provide age specific care. Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices. Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, Experience:
Education:

High School graduate, certificate from an AMA approved school,

Licensure:

Current CPSGT or RPSGT from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, RST from the American Board of Sleep Medicine, or RRT-SDS from the NBRC.

Experience:

1 - 2 years.

Certifications required:

See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required (e.g.

ACLS, PALS, CPI, CPR

) to maintain professional license. Licensed professionals must strictly adhere to the ethical code of their respective discipline. Excellent interpersonal skills needed in dealing with nursing staff, physicians, patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Able to think quickly, handle various projects simultaneously with attention to accuracy, prioritization, patient request, detail, memory, problem solving, reasoning, ability to memorize routine assignments, computer mnemonics, all with little or no supervision. Ability to analyze and manipulate numbers, percentages, and indexes from equipment for procedures. Ability to explain procedures to patients and speak clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff regarding patient's condition, etc. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions including emergency situations during high-risk procedures. Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory. Ability to develop positive interactions and solve complex problems in a professional manner under stress with patients, patients' families, physicians, and staff in order to effectively care for the patients. Computer Knowledge including the ability to enter material into electronic record. Ability to operate fax, computer, and copy machine to perform the duties of the position. The ability to demonstrate knowledge of developmental stages and apply developmental theories/concepts when planning and implementing care for the appropriate age of the patient. Ability to maintain the appropriate level of knowledge and skills.
