Job Description

Are you an experienced Medical Assistant seeking a new home? Cullman Internal Medicine (CIM) is in need of two Medical Assistant's to join our practice of 10 Doctors and 13 Nurse Practitioners. For 50 years, CIM has provided leading edge treatment to patients within the community; striving to provide world-class Patient centered care where medicine meets compassion. This Medical Assistant position is unique; Our MA's take on a Clerical role, requiring you sit at a desk, with all or most patient interactions being by phone. This role is best suited for someone flexible and adaptable as you will be required to support any area needed within the practice and can change day to day. Clinic hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday- Friday. This position will be required to work 7:45am-5pm (or last patient completed). Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate. To qualify for this position, you must have two years experience within the following CCMA with 2 years of clinical experience, CMA(AAMA)/LPN/RN. Returning patient calls, refills, prior authorizations, scheduling outside testing, and referrals. Assist with walk in Flu injections during flu season. Collaborating with all office personnel as needed. Maintaining strictest confidentiality, binding to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Adhering to all Compliance guidelines/regulations, and OSHA requirements. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisor as deemed appropriate to include but not be limited to scheduling
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions/ and communicate effectively with others. Knowledge of computer programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Must be well organized and detail oriented.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting, standing and walking associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a computer keyboard.
