Overview Job Summary:
Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital's mission, vision and values. Under supervision of the registered nurse utilizes knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and assist in planning, providing and evaluating care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of the assigned patient with a primary focus on a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Under supervision assist with the preparation, implementation and continuing evaluation of the plan of care for assigned patients. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Under supervision assesses and documents condition, observation, interventions and response on assigned patients on ongoing basis to include but not limited to normal system review, behavioral and age specific factors. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Participates in medication reconciliation through admission and discharge process. Assist in providing patient and/or significant other education based on physical, behavioral, psychological development age and age related factor after barriers to learning have been identified. Demonstrates safe medication administration, maintaining mediation and patient verification process per hospital policy. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Accepts and performs total patient care responsibilities on assigned with minimal supervision. Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Notifies Clinical supervisor and/or MD of any indication of adverse change in assigned patient's condition and initiates appropriate action. Understands scope of nursing practice and accepts responsibility of practicing within that scope. Adheres to policies and procedures and demonstrates practices that ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, co-workers, and self. Participates and is supportive of Quality Improvement issues and projects. Takes the initiative to obtain additional education related to scope of practice. CPR certification. CPI certification. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required- Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for patients.
