About the Opportunity Lee County Youth Development Center (LCYDC) is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and mission-driven Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The Licensed Practical Nurse plays an important role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we serve. The LPN will provide nursing care, coordinate health-related services, maintain accurate documentation, support medication management, and partner with clinical and program staff to ensure high-quality care. What You'll Do As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will: Provide nursing care and health-related support to individuals served by LCYDC. Assess health needs and respond appropriately to illnesses, injuries, and other medical concerns. Administer and oversee medications in accordance with physician orders, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate and timely medical records and nursing documentation. Monitor changes in health status and communicate concerns to appropriate clinical, program, and leadership team members. Coordinate medical appointments, follow-up care, and other health services as needed. Review physician orders and ensure appropriate implementation and documentation. Provide health education and guidance to individuals served and staff. Assist with medication administration training and competency requirements for designated staff, as applicable. Maintain appropriate infection-control and health-and-safety practices. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with behavioral health, clinical, residential, and program teams. Support compliance with applicable healthcare standards, licensing requirements, and organizational policies. Assist with emergency response and provide appropriate nursing intervention when needed. Build positive, professional relationships with individuals served, families, employees, healthcare providers, and community partners. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Alabama , or eligibility for appropriate Alabama licensure. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain required certification. Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care. Ability to meet applicable background screening and other employment requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous nursing experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults. Experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential services, community health, human services, or a related setting. Experience with medication administration and medication-management systems. Experience working in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary care environment.
