Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Licensed Vocational Nurse performs general and special nursing care and related duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the recognized technical and competence limits as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and by hospital protocols. He/she will individualize patient care based upon age appropriate and developmental needs. Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. Performs other duties as assigned.PERFORMANCE DIMENSIONS AND TASKS
Essential Function1. Implements safe therapeutic care for group of assigned patients.a. Safely performs and documents the nursing procedures required by the patient assignment.b. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all nursing skills.c. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and/or protocols.d. Demonstrates safe and efficient use of specialized equipment.e. Demonstrates accurate administration of medications.f. Prioritizes own work load relative to patient care needs.g. Completes clinical assignments in a timely fashion including maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for provision of patient care.- Medication stock
