Employment Type Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Responsibilities:
Assess the total need of the student; Maintains acceptable standards of nursing practice; Prepares, administers and charts medications according to the physician orders and schedule as directed by the procedures manual; Correctly administers and charts treatments using proper nursing procedures, according to physician order facility policy and infection control policies; Makes decision in emergency situations and practices first aid measures; Is responsible for accurate observations, evaluations and reporting of student's symptoms, reactions and progress to the school nurse; Provides direct nursing care to an individual student and administers special treatments as ordered; Inventories nursing supplies and equipment and notifies the parent and the school nurse of supply and equipment need including replacement and repair; Assists in coordinating nursing care with care rendered by others. Assures that documentation is complete in the medical records; Collaborate with other professionals regarding implementation of health related Individual Education Plan (IEP) items; Notify parents of accident or illness and secure medical care for the student in emergency case; Maintains confidentiality Requirements /
Qualifications Qualifications:
Currently licensed as a vocational nurse in the State of California. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply basic principles of nursing care i.e.: experience with suctioning, nebulizer treatments, EH Feedings, seizure disorders, colostomy care. Experience and/or education in the area of children. Be able to communicate effectively.
