LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE
(LPN)
SITE OF SERVICE
Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), 1650 Cochrane Cir, Fort Carson, CO 80913, and other applicable locations within the MOU and ERSA.
HOURS:
Monday through Friday with a 30/60-minute uncompensated lunch. Duty hours are an 8-hour shift between 0700-1600, Monday through Friday.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The LPN supporting Evans Army Community Hospital provides dermatology clinic nursing support in a federal medical setting. This role helps ensure efficient patient flow, safe medication administration, and high-quality support for specialty care delivery.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Certificate from a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program or completion of equivalent military training that permits sitting for the state licensure examination.
Licensure:
Must maintain a current unrestricted license in the U.S. jurisdiction within which the contract worker is performing.
Certification:
Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), maintained in current status at all times.
Experience:
One year of experience within the last two years as a practical nurse; dermatology experience preferred but not required.
Citizenship:
U.S. citizenship is required.
Language:
All contractor personnel must demonstrate professional proficiency in the English language.
Physical Capability:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods; lift and move patients or equipment as required by the clinical setting; and perform the physical demands inherent to the specialty.
DUTIES:
- Initiates, performs, and completes assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
- Completes assigned patient care based on patient conditions and sequence of procedures.
- Observes, identifies, and responds to patient needs for care, medication, and education.
- Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatments.
- Recognizes urgent or emergent situations and initiates emergency interventions.
- Performs support duties for complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures.
- Orients peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures.
- Integrates healthy work environment principles into patient care delivery.
- Documents care in the electronic health record.
- Assists the dermatology department with clinical support tasks.
Special Requirements / Skills
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
