Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Experience the rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact, providing dedicated care as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a medically fragile student. This contract role offers the chance to work closely with an individual in a supportive school environment, ensuring their health and well-being during the academic year. You'll be responsible for providing 1:1 care at a local high school, working Wednesdays from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with shortened hours on early release days. The position covers specific Wednesdays through the school year, concluding in mid-June. This is a highly focused role—ideal for nurses seeking meaningful, scheduled work and the ability to build a strong rapport with one student.
Key Qualifications:
Current, active LPN license in Connecticut Valid BLS/CPR certification Experience working with medically fragile youth or in a pediatric/school setting strongly preferred Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and compassionate patient care Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care and medical oversight to a designated student throughout the school day Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and oversee daily health needs as prescribed Collaborate with educational staff and parents to maintain a safe and inclusive environment Document and report on the student's health status, ensuring compliance with all regulations Participate in onsite interviews as requested This is a unique chance to utilize your nursing expertise within an educational setting, focusing your skills where they truly matter most.
