Hartford, CT (On-site / Adult Day Center)
Position Type:
Temporary to Permanent (Part-Time initially, with Full-Time potential)
Pay Rate:
$31.00•$32.00 per hour Job Description Hartford Adult Day Center is seeking a dedicated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide exceptional care to our participants. Because our center primarily serves Spanish-speaking individuals, fluent Spanish verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate medical updates, assess participant needs, and build trust within our community. This position begins as a temporary role from August 31 through October 12 , with a strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent, full-time nursing position based on performance and center needs. Schedule Initial Temporary Period (Aug 31•Oct 12): Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 9:00 AM•3:00 PM (18 hours/week)
If Position Becomes Permanent:
Monday through
Friday:
9:00 AM•3:00 PM Every other
Sunday:
9:00 AM•12:00 PM Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, monitor vital signs, and administer medications as prescribed. Conduct daily health screenings and ongoing health assessments for Spanish-speaking participants. Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical documentation and medical records. Communicate health updates clearly with participants, their families, and the interdisciplinary care team. Respond promptly to medical emergencies or changes in participant health status.
Qualifications License:
Active, unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Connecticut (Required).
Language:
Must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English (Required).
Experience:
Previous nursing experience in home health, adult day care, geriatrics, or community health is highly preferred. Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and interpersonal skills. Ability to commit to the initial temporary schedule and the expanded permanent schedule if extended.
