This contract opportunity focuses on providing substitute nursing coverage in a school environment close to Waterford, CT. You'll contribute to a nurturing atmosphere, working alongside a dedicated team and making a real difference in students' daily lives. As the district's substitute nurse, you'll be relied upon once per week to deliver professional nursing services, and will serve as a dependable resource to fill in when the two regular school nurses are absent. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may occasionally be called on short notice.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active and unencumbered LPN or LVN license Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred Strong assessment and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families CPR and First Aid certification required Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day healthcare for students and staff as needed Administer medications and treatments in accordance with medical plans Respond promptly to health emergencies and manage first aid situations Maintain accurate and confidential health records Support the health office in all routine clinical duties Communicate concerns and coordinate care with school nurses, faculty, and families This role offers a predictable once-per-week schedule with the opportunity for additional hours.
