Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care and clinical support to residents in an Assisted Living Facility and Memory Care environment. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Director of Nursing, or Administrator and ensures resident health needs are met in accordance with Florida statutes, AHCA regulations, and facility policies. This position may work 12-hour shifts and requires strong clinical judgment, compassion, and the ability to manage residents with cognitive impairment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical & Nursing Care Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the RN, physician, or Administrator Perform nursing assessments within LPN scope of practice Administer treatments as ordered (e.g., wound care, catheter care, glucose monitoring) Medication Management Administer medications as authorized by Florida law and facility policy Supervise medication administration by Med Techs and assist with medication audits Monitor residents for medication side effects and adverse reactions Ensure accurate documentation in MAR/eMAR systems Memory Care Support Provide specialized nursing care for residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias Assist with behavior monitoring and non-pharmacological interventions Support resident safety, fall prevention, and elopement precautions Communicate effectively with residents experiencing cognitive decline Supervision & Collaboration Provide clinical oversight and guidance to CNAs, HHAs, and Med Techs Participate in shift hand-offs and interdisciplinary care coordination Assist with staff training and competency validation when assigned Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate nursing notes, incident reports, and care documentation Assist with AHCA compliance, surveys, and audits Follow all infection control, HIPAA, and emergency procedures Participate in emergency response and disaster preparedness activities Shift & Work Schedule Requirements Ability to work 12-hour shifts (day, night, weekends, and holidays as scheduled) Ability to remain on duty and alert for extended periods Must be able to respond to resident needs throughout the entire shift Qualifications Required Current, active Florida LPN license (unrestricted) Minimum 1 year experience in ALF, long-term care, memory care, or healthcare setting (preferred) Completion of required Alzheimer's Disease Training per Florida statute Current CPR/BLS certification Ability to pass Level 2 background screening Preferred Experience in Memory Care or Dementia-specific programs Familiarity with eMAR systems Strong leadership and communication skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift, push, or assist residents as required (with or without accommodation) Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations Professional Conduct Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and resident dignity at all times Demonstrate compassion, patience, and respect toward residents, families, and staff Comply with all facility policies and Florida regulations governing
