09/16/2026 Job Description Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate medical care and support for individuals in our mental health and/or substance abuse treatment facility. The LPN will work under the supervision of an RN or physician, administering medications, monitoring client health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care, including health monitoring and medication administration. Conduct routine assessments of clients' physical and mental health conditions. Assist with withdrawal management and monitor symptoms in clients undergoing detox (if applicable). Document patient progress, medication administration, and any changes in condition accurately and timely. Collaborate with the treatment team, including RNs, physicians, therapists, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care. Educate clients and families on medications, treatment plans, and overall health and wellness. Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies and provide necessary interventions. Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control procedures, and state and federal healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
Current and valid LPN license in the State of Florida (required). Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program. Experience in mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral health settings preferred. Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and medication management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills. CPR and First Aid certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a detox, psychiatric, or residential treatment setting. Knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment protocols.
