You will monitor withdrawal, administer medications, complete admission assessments, and be the steady clinical presence that keeps clients safe through the hardest days of early recovery. You will practice under RN supervision within clear protocols and standing orders from our Medical Director, with a weekly nursing huddle and monthly one-on-one supervision. Small facility, structured support, and a team that knows every client by name.

SCHEDULE

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (three 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week) Monday through Thursday off, every week Documented nurse-to-nurse handoff at each shift change Nurses share a rotating phone and Slack on-call schedule, with escalation to the on-call physician or Medical Director

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Complete the Nursing Physical Screen at presentation and the Nursing Admission Assessment within 24 hours of admission, including vital signs, allergies, substance-use history, medical and psychiatric history, and medication reconciliation Administer and score CIWA-Ar (alcohol) and COWS (opioid) withdrawal assessments; monitor vital signs and escalate to the on-call provider per protocol using SBAR Administer scheduled and PRN medications using the Five Rights; document on the Medication Administration Record and assess PRN effectiveness Perform controlled-substance counts at shift change and follow diversion-prevention protocols Perform urine drug screens and CLIA-waived point-of-care testing; place laboratory orders, upload results, and flag critical values for physician review Lead opioid-overdose response with naloxone; manage medical emergencies, seizure precautions, and first aid; activate 911 and the chain of command as indicated Provide structured verbal and written shift-to-shift handoff and contribute the nursing update at interdisciplinary team meetings Support client safety through observation, risk reporting, and timely escalation; assist with behavioral escalations in coordination with clinical staff Complete all nursing shift notes in KIPU within 30 minutes of the end of each shift, in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 WHAT

YOU BRING

Strong assessment, observation, and clinical-judgment skills; calm and decisive in crisis Confident medication administration and MAR documentation Withdrawal monitoring experience (CIWA-Ar, COWS) or readiness to learn it Comfort documenting in an EMR system; KIPU experience a plus Working knowledge of HIPAA and client confidentiality requirements Treats every client with dignity and respect; trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach Clear, timely communication with providers, nursing peers, and the multidisciplinary team Follows protocols precisely and escalates when something is off

LICENSURE AND CREDENTIALS

Required Current, active, unencumbered Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license CPR and First Aid certification from an approved provider (may be obtained within 72 hours of start date) Satisfactory Level 2 background screening, pre-employment drug screen, and tuberculosis screening Preferred Experience in residential, behavioral health, or substance use treatment Familiarity with withdrawal protocols and monitoring tools (CIWA-Ar, COWS) Experience with co-occurring mental health disorders KIPU or other EMR documentation experience Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
