Job Description
Public Health Licensed Practical Nurse 3 Immunization Travel Nurse District 4 Public Health 301 Main Street Lagrange, GA 30240 Under broad supervision, provides assistance to public health nurses and clinics. Provides general direct nursing care. Care includes administering vaccines, performing blood draws, taking vital signs, and providing patient education. Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health and acts. All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours. Administers immunizations to all age patients according to established guidelines & procedures. Provides patient education using approved resources/literature. Performs annual school & daycare immunization audits. Performs tracking and recall of patients in need of immunizations. Assists with annual scoliosis screenings. Participates' in health fairs and outreach events during and outside of normal business hours. Performs TB screenings and administers PPD skin test, in clinic and outreach events. Assists clinic nurses with daily vaccine count. Assists with working up patients by taking vital signs and performing blood draws Prepares to respond to public health emergencies and responds as directed. Uses computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data. Participates in program planning. Communicates in writing, orally, and through electronic means, with proper terminology and cultural proficiency. Incorporates strategies for interacting with people form diverse backgrounds (e.g., cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental and physical capabilities). Adheres to the organization's policies and procedures. Uses individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities for personal and professional development. PH Licensed Practical Nurse 3 Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND four (4) years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification; OR one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level

(HCT111) or position equivalent.NOTE:
Position requires travel to 12-county area. Travel reimbursement at current state of Georgia reimbursement rate.Preferred Qualifications:
