Position Summary The Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support under the supervision of the physicians and leadership team. The LPN plays a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care while ensuring clinical excellence and an exceptional experience for our pediatric patients and their families. Essential ResponsibilitiesPediatric Patient Care & Clinical Support Provide nursing care under the supervision of a physician. Triage and return patient and parent messages in a timely manner, preferably before the end of each business day. Administer pediatric immunizations, injections, and medications, including oral, rectal, nasal, and topical medications. Maintain accurate immunization records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS). Assist physicians during urgent and emergency situations, including resuscitation, airway management, and IV access. Obtain patient histories and accurately document vital signs, including: Temperature Pulse Respiratory rate Blood pressure Oxygen saturation Height and weight Body Mass Index (BMI) Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for patient examinations and procedures. Perform and document office-based testing, including: Rapid Strep Testing Hemocue Testing Urinalysis Lead Screening Cholesterol Screening Vision Screening Hearing Screening Administer nebulizer treatments and provide asthma and medication-use education to patients and families. Draw and collect blood samples, including venous and capillary specimens, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and patient education. Clinical Operations Maintain infection prevention and control standards throughout the practice. Clean, stock, and organize examination rooms and clinical areas. Record vaccine and refrigerator temperatures twice daily and ensure compliance with vaccine storage and handling requirements. Complete daily chart preparation, including growth charts, immunization registries, and scanning documents into the EMR. Support efficient patient flow and timely visits. Monitor and maintain clinical inventory, supplies, and vaccine stock. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities. Team Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate closely with physicians, front office staff, and leadership to ensure exceptional patient care. Serve as a positive ambassador for Atlanta Pediatric Partners and foster a welcoming environment for children and families. Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical staff as needed. Support compliance initiatives and adherence to practice policies and procedures. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service in all interactions. Qualifications Current Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Minimum of one (1) year of pediatric experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Experience administering pediatric vaccines and maintaining immunization records preferred. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); experience with Epic is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Georgia immunization requirements and GRITS preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric setting.
