Job Description:
Key Responsibilities On-the-Road Repairs :
Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and trailers in various locations.
Preventative Maintenance :
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
Troubleshooting :
Utilize diagnostic tools and technology to identify issues and determine the best repair strategies.
Emergency Response :
Respond promptly to service calls for breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
Documentation :
Accurately complete repair orders, logs, and maintenance records.
Compliance :
Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with DOT and safety regulations.
Communication :
Collaborate with dispatch and fleet managers to coordinate repairs and report progress.
Inventory Management :

INDHP Job Requirements:
Qualifications Required :
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air brakes, and electrical systems. Med Card. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Availability for on-call shifts and emergency roadside repairs. Supply your own tools
Preferred :
ASE Certification(s) in Diesel Engines, Brakes, or Electrical Systems. Experience working on trailers or waste management vehicles.
Wage Range:
25.00 - 28.00 per hour
