Job Description

Job Summary Performs duties related to direct patient care under the supervision of physician, PA or NP and/or registered nurse. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing room for procedures, placing patients in examination rooms, ascertaining vital signs and pertinent medical history information, assisting providers as directed in patient examination and/or treatment, and participates in patient education. Cleans and prepares instruments and stocks examination rooms. Charts in the electronic health record. LPN/CMA/Paramedic staff will not be delegated any task beyond the scope of practice of their license or certificate. Paramedics may perform non-lifesaving procedures for which they have been certified

Pay Range:
RN:
$27.35•$41.02
CMA & LPN:
$21.59•$32.38 MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program, medical assistant certification program or paramedic program.
Licensure/certification:
Current RN/LPN license in Iowa, Medical Assistant certification from formal medical assistant program or Paramedic license.
Previous Work Experience:
Previous experience working in a medical office preferred.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds both orally and in writing. Ability to read and understand/follow written and verbal directions. Requires organizational and self motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Must demonstrate ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently and interdependently with the health care team. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a potentially fast paced environment.
