Job Description

Christie Clinic's department of Endocrinology is seeking a full-time LPN/RN at the Medical Hills clinic in Bloomington or at the Windsor clinic in Champaign from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. This position will allow for a hybrid/remote schedule of one day per week once training and department competencies are successfully completed. Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
JOB DUTIES
(This list may not include all of the duties assigned.) Administer prescribed medications and treatment and injections in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc. Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education. Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment. Perform special testing on patients. Give injections to patients and draw blood, as needed in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for medications and procedures. Perform related work as required. Arrange for patient testing and admission. Send prescription refills in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, equipment, etc. Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc. Attend and participate in departmental huddles and any other meetings as necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU's
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional nursing experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
Possession of an Illinois State LPN or Registered Nurse License CPR Certification
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
PAY AND BENEFITS
The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. This position allows for interchangeable credentialed roles with varying pay ranges: LPN pay range: $22.94 to $31.54 /hr.
RN pay range:
$32.40 to $44.55 /hr.
