EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
MA:
Must have earned a Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited school. A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who has achieved certification through the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is desired, but will accept other certifications from other testing agencies. Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
LPN:
A graduate from a School of Licensed Practical Nursing and currently licensed in the state of Illinois as a LPN. Required to have a current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Must have knowledge of the following: current clinical practices commonly implemented by the family practice nurse; medical terminology; Service Organization and office policies and procedures; all technical equipment used; use of personal protective equipment in compliance with DCD and OSHA guidelines; rules and regulations concerning child abuse reporting and guardianship. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from the employee.
