5x 8-hour shifts or 3x 12-hour shifts; day, evening, night, or rotating; up to full-time hours

Weekly pay About the Role ShareSTAFF is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for contract assignments across Kansas. As a contract LPN, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, document in the EMR, and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team. You'll choose assignments at acute care hospitals, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, state-operated facilities, behavioral health settings, and other healthcare environments that fit your experience, schedule, and location preferences. New openings come in throughout the year

  • earn extra when you refer a fellow healthcare professional Dedicated recruiter support before, during, and after your assignment Extension opportunities and access to new assignments nationwide What You'll Do Provide direct nursing care in the assigned facility setting (acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, behavioral health, or other) Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes; oversee the medication room Carry out nursing care recommendations and orders under the direction of registered nurses and physicians Document all care, observations, and patient responses in the facility's electronic medical record (EMR) at the time services are rendered Recognize behavioral and physical changes in patients and report findings to the supervising RN or physician Coordinate care with RNs, physicians, advanced practice providers, therapy services, and other team members Serve as shift leader when assigned, providing oversight to subordinate nursing staff (CNAs, medication aides) and making patient care assignments Respond to medical emergencies and participate in code response per facility protocols Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff Perform other nursing duties as assigned within the scope of the LPN license What You Bring•Required Active, unrestricted Kansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, Kansas temporary permit, or authority to practice as recognized by the Kansas State Board of Nursing Minimum six (6) months of recent practical nursing experience Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Ability to work 5x 8-hour or 3x 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, night, or rotating schedules as assigned Must be able to complete pre-placement requirements, including a drug screen approved by the Kansas Department of Administration when assigned to State of Kansas facilities What You Bring•Preferred One or more years of recent LPN experience across multiple settings (acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or specialty units) Experience as Charge Nurse or shift leader, particularly in long-term care or skilled nursing IV certification and skills in medication administration via IV routes Specialty experience in geriatric care, behavioral health, rehabilitation, wound care, or memory care Familiarity with PointClickCare, MatrixCare, Epic, Cerner, or other widely used EMR systems Flexibility to accept assignments at multiple facility types and locations across Kansas About ShareSTAFF ShareSTAFF connects nursing and allied health professionals with travel and contract assignments at hospitals, state facilities, and healthcare organizations nationwide.
