Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality nursing care to individuals housed in a secure correctional facility. Must be comfortable working independently, remains calm in emergencies, demonstrates sound clinical judgement, and can effectively communicate with patients, nursing staff, providers and correctional officers. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems. Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility policies. Perform medication pass and maintain accurate medication administration records. Provide wound care, dressing changes, injections, teatments, and other nursing procedures within LPN spope of practice. Assist with sick call, chronic disease management, intake screenings, and follow up care. Respond to emergencies and handle situation confidently. Follow facility standing orders, nursing protocols, and infection control practices. Assist with withdrawal monitoring as directed by facility policy and medical orders. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation. Maintain professional boundaries with incarcerated individuals at all times. Participate in staff training as required. Perform other nursing duties within the LPN's scope of practice as assigned. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Current basic life support (CPR) certification. Ability to handle emergency situations confidently.
