This contract role blends the critical skills of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and paraprofessional, making a meaningful impact in the school environment. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active LPN or LVN license in Massachusetts (or eligibility for licensure) Experience working as an LPN in schools, clinics, or pediatric settings preferred Ability to support healthcare needs and promote a safe environment for students with varying medical complexities Comfortable performing basic nursing procedures, first aid, medication administration, and supporting IEPs or 504 plans Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Multitasking abilities and adaptability to changing school-day situations
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care for students, including medication management and daily health monitoring Assist with chronic condition management, emergency response, and care coordination with school staff Support students with physical, behavioral, or developmental challenges in the classroom and throughout the school day Collaborate with educators and families to ensure individualized support and adherence to care plans Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with school policies and state guidelines
