Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) The District LPN provides clinical support within school health offices across the district. This role focuses on assisting School Nurses (CSNs) with daily clinic operations, student triage, and routine medical tasks to ensure the health and safety of the general student population. Medical services include, but not limited to:
Triage & First Aid:
Assessment and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses for the general student body.
Medication Administration:
Managing daily scheduled medications (inhalers, ADHD meds, etc.) and PRN (as needed) medications.
Health Screenings:
Assisting with mandated vision, hearing, and postural screenings.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining electronic health records and immunization compliance.
Clinic Flow:
Supporting the Certified School Nurse (CSN) in managing "sick bay" during peak hours.
Emergent Coverage:
Providing short-term coverage in specialized classrooms (e.g., Compass Program) only as needed for emergency situations. Collaborates under the direction of the Certified School Nurse (CSN). Hours of School operation:
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (School Year).
Note:
This position requires travel between school buildings within the district as assigned. Additional opportunities: The ideal candidate will be available for the Summer Health Clinic, providing first aid and medication administration for students enrolled in summer enrichment programs (typically July - early August).
Compensation:
The LPN will have an individual contract with Westford Public Schools. Hourly rate and benefits will be negotiated based on experience.
