Job Description

Central Maine Medical Center seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. The LPN will deliver direct bedside care, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and support physicians and RNs in treatment and procedures. You will educate patients and families, document accurately in the EMR, and uphold CMHC's commitment to safety, quality, and dignity. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under RN and provider direction Administer medications and treatments per orders and protocols Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition Perform basic wound care, specimen collection, and vital signs Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers Educate patients and families on treatments and self-care Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support care plans Follow infection control and patient safety standards Contribute to a compassionate, respectful care environment Required Skills Medication administration Vital signs monitoring Wound care and dressing changes Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation IV therapy and line care Patient assessment and observation Infection control practices Specimen collection and basic lab procedures Patient and family education Clinical teamwork and care coordination
