Job Description
Summary of MDS Nurse Role The MDS Nurse is responsible for accurately and promptly completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. They support individualized resident care by reflecting each resident's clinical status in assessments. The role requires knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards, with prior MDS/RAI experience preferred. Qualifications include an LPN license with at least one year of experience and excellent assessment skills; CPR certification is also required. The position involves independent functioning and leadership abilities, contributing to high-quality care in a skilled nursing environment.
