Job Alerts Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron's Values. Functions within a Team setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Supports the mission and vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback. Contributes to the assessment of the patient's physical and psychological needs and strengths in a comprehensive manner. Contributes to the individualized nursing care plan of patients. Contributes to the implementation of the patient's plan of care. Contributes to the evaluation of the adult and geriatric patient's plan of care. Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the nursing unit. Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency. Perform other related duties as required and directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse, NAPNES certification BLS and Canadian Equivalent CPI - Non-violent crisis intervention
Preferred:
One (1) year of experience in mental health
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan.
