Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact this school year by providing essential 1:1 care for a middle school student in a supportive educational environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team, focusing on the unique healthcare needs of one student with a tracheostomy. The schedule follows the student's school calendar, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week starting as soon as possible through early June 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota LPN license Active CPR/AED certification At least 2 years of experience with pediatric patients, especially those needing tracheostomy care and suctioning Strong documentation and communication skills Comfortable providing high-needs care for students with complex medical conditions Willingness and ability to accompany the student on school transportation (to/from home)
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 nursing care to a 7th grade student during the school day Monitor, manage, and perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning as outlined in the student's healthcare plan Diligently document daily care activities, interventions, and observations Follow and update the individualized healthcare plan and communicate effectively with staff and families Contribute positively to the school's Health Services team and collaborate with school personnel Ride the school bus with the student to ensure safe transportation as required This position is ideal for a compassionate LPN who finds reward in delivering individualized care and thrives in a collaborative, student-centered setting.
