Duties Conduct thorough student health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews. Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Respond promptly to medical emergencies using first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state Nursing Practice Acts. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions. Provide health education and promote wellness initiatives within the school community. Ensure the school clinic adheres to all health regulations and infection control standards while managing inventory of medical supplies. Skills Proven experience in school clinic settings or pediatric care with strong knowledge of pediatrics and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and patient record management. Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, venipuncture, IV insertion, medication administration, and injection techniques. Familiarity with emergency medicine practices such as
CPR, AED
operation, first aid, and acute care procedures. Knowledge of infectious disease care protocols and compliance with health regulations including HIPAA and state Nursing Practice Acts. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and healthcare teams to ensure clear understanding of health needs. Strong understanding of physiology, medical terminology, manual handling techniques, and interprofessional collaboration in clinical settings.
