This flexible, hands-on role offers the opportunity to support diverse needs in various educational settings, helping ensure students receive exceptional medical care throughout the school day.
Key Qualifications:
Active LPN license in Missouri is required Previous school-based nursing experience preferred Skilled in administering care for students with ventilators, tracheostomies, and g-tubes Comfortable navigating between multiple campuses and adapting to new environments Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills Compassionate, flexible, and dedicated to student well-being
Core Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to students across the district as a float nurse Deliver routine and emergency care, including specialized interventions (vent, trach, g-tube management) Collaborate proactively with educational staff, students, and families to create a safe and supportive environment Maintain accurate and confidential health records in accordance with district guidelines Respond promptly to health emergencies and support the daily medical needs of students at each school site Educate staff on relevant health plans, emergency protocols, and wellness promotion This contract role offers the unique challenge of engaging with a wide range of students while developing close working relationships with staff throughout the district.
