Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role dedicated to supporting students with significant medical needs in an educational setting. This position calls for a compassionate and skilled LPN/LVN eager to make a real impact for a specialized school population. Work alongside another nurse to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for approximately 50 students requiring complex medical care.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid LPN or LVN license (in good standing) Experience working with children or youth, preferably in school or pediatric settings Competency in g-tube care, wheelchair transfers, feeding assistance, toileting, and seizure precautions Ability to follow medical protocols and document care provided Comfort with hands-on care, including lifting and positioning students as needed Strong communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct medical care and daily support within assigned classrooms Partner with a fellow nurse onsite to manage the medical needs of students (including 9 with g-tubes) Administer medications, monitor for seizures, and perform feeding and toileting routines Maintain accurate records of care, observations, and any health incidents or interventions Respond effectively to emergencies and engage in routine collaboration with school staff and families Foster a supportive, respectful environment for students with diverse abilities
