Job Description

Put your nursing skills to work in a supportive, school-based environment caring for one energetic Pre-K student. This contract opportunity, located near Danbury, NC, offers a rewarding role with steady hours—Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 am to 2:20 pm—allowing you to make a difference while maintaining work-life balance. As a dedicated professional for this one-on-one position, you'll provide essential medical care, using your expertise to ensure a safe and nurturing learning experience. The student is fully mobile and actively participates in class, adding to the engaging pace of your day.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current LPN or LVN licensure required Experience with tracheostomy care and monitoring, including suctioning and emergency replacement Skilled in administering G-Tube feedings and medications via feeding pump Comfortable with pulse oximetry, oxygen management, and routine vital sign monitoring Familiarity with early childhood care (especially Pre-K or pediatric settings) a plus Compassionate communication and a patient-centered approach
Daily Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain the student's respiratory status; suction tracheostomy as needed Administer trach care, change ties/gauze, replace trach if blocked or dislodged Provide G-Tube feedings, give prescribed medications and water flushes During nap time, keep continuous pulse oximeter monitoring and manage oxygen as ordered Support with hygiene, diaper changes, and regular comfort care Remain vigilant about the student's overall condition throughout each day In this role, you can grow your clinical skills and bring invaluable comfort to a young learner.
