Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Schedule:
Approximately 20-24 hours per week, primarily weekdays Lake Norman Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced, professional Licensed Practical Nurse to join our growing boutique plastic surgery practice in Huntersville. This is a hands-on clinical position working closely with a board-certified plastic surgeon and a small, patient-focused team. The LPN will play an important role in preoperative and postoperative care, office procedures, patient education, and maintaining an efficient and highly professional clinical environment. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, wound care, or another outpatient procedural specialty. Experience with ModMed EMR is a plus. Responsibilities
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care under physician direction
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication updates, medical history information, and other relevant clinical data
  • Assist with postoperative visits, including wound care, dressings, drains, and suture removal as appropriate
  • Educate patients regarding surgical preparation, medications, postoperative care, wound care, and recovery instructions
  • Recognize potentially concerning findings and promptly communicate them to the physician
  • Respond to clinical patient messages, gather appropriate information, follow established protocols, and escalate concerns when indicated
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms for minor office procedures
  • Assist the surgeon during office procedures while maintaining sterile technique
  • Prepare sterile instruments, supplies, medications, and local-anesthesia materials as directed
  • Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record
  • Process prescriptions and refills as directed by the physician
  • Communicate with patients by telephone and secure messaging in a professional, reassuring, and timely manner
  • Obtain standardized clinical and before-and-after photography
  • Maintain clinical rooms, supplies, and equipment in an organized and ready state
  • Follow OSHA, infection-control, sterilization, and patient-safety standards
  • Assist with overall patient flow as needed Qualifications
  • Active North Carolina LPN license in good standing
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, surgery, wound care, or another outpatient procedural specialty strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique and procedural patient care
  • Ability to recognize abnormal or concerning findings and appropriately escalate them
  • Excellent communication skills and a polished, professional patient-facing demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working closely with a physician in a small, high-accountability private practice
  • EMR experience required; ModMed EMA experience is a plus
