Job Description
LPN / RN
- Corrections Nursing (Full-Time) Iredell County Detention Center | Statesville, NC Good Nursing Is Good Nursing — No Matter Where It Happens. Some of the most skilled, most dedicated nurses we know found their calling in a place most people overlook: inside the walls of a county detention center. The work is demanding. The patients are complicated. And the difference a compassionate, competent nurse makes here is felt in ways that are hard to put into words. At IMS Correctional Healthcare , we've built our reputation on a simple belief — that every patient deserves to be treated with professionalism, dignity, and genuine care. We partner with county facilities across North Carolina, and we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the contract requires. If you're a nurse who takes that same approach to your work, you'll fit right in here. We're hiring a LPN or RN to join our team at Iredell County Detention Center in Statesville, NC — a community-rooted facility where your presence will be felt every single shift. What You'll Do Working under the supervision of a physician and senior RN, you'll be a consistent, trusted presence for patients who often have limited access to healthcare outside these walls.Your responsibilities will include:
Preventative health assessments, screenings, and immunizations Chronic care management, sick call, and urgent care services On-site treatment and proper emergency response protocols Clear, accurate progress notes, discharge summaries, and patient workups Assisting in the development of ongoing patient treatment plans Patient education on preventative health, treatment options, and community resources Serving as a knowledgeable resource for correctional staff on medical requirements and restrictions Upholding patient confidentiality, facility protocols, and the highest standards of professional conduct at all times Every interaction — with patients, with correctional staff, with your IMS colleagues — is an opportunity to demonstrate what good medicine and good character look like side by side. Who You Are You hold a current LPN or RN license in North Carolina and you bring more than just clinical competence to the job. You're steady under pressure. You communicate clearly and respectfully across different environments. You treat every patient as a person first — because at IMS, that's not optional, it's foundational. Prior correctional experience is a plus, but it's not required.
