Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a high quality of service in conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures and standards of practice. Helps to supervise, monitor, and review the work of professional and non-professional employees within the nursing department as designated by the Director of Nursing. Participates in training of staff as requested by Director of Nursing. Assesses and completes documentation of wounds and decubitus ulcers. Monitoring process of treatment and reporting changes to Director of Nursing, attending Physician, and wound care nurse. Supervises patients at mealtime in the dining room, if necessary. Makes rounds numerous times during shift to ensure adequate care. Assists Director of Nursing in employee evaluations. Maintains the policies and standards of the Nursing Department as set forth by Director of Nursing. Notifies Director of Nursing of any significant or reportable changes and action taken. Checks to see that all physician orders are carried out. Assist with Physician's rounds. Communicates to Nurse Leadership in unit needs any equipment, supplies, and medication necessary to maintain good patient care. Maintains accurate documentation as required. Exercises independent judgment in performing duties assigned by Director of Nursing in her absence. Maintains productive and harmonious relationships with other departments. Ensures that all patient rights are maintained during care. Evaluation of abstracts for admission. Follow Resident Rights' policies at all times. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Follow appropriate dress code; conduct yourself in a caring courteous and professional manner. Attend and complete in-service training programs. Aware of the safety of all residents in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents.

the community adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with role in carrying out the community's fire, safety and disaster plans and by being familiar with current Safety Data Sheets. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
