Job Description

The Warren Center, a nonprofit serving children with developmental delays and disabilities, is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse. In this Healthcare & Medical Services role, you'll support pediatric therapists and families by assisting with care coordination, monitoring patient status, and reinforcing therapy plans. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality services in a supportive, inclusive environment. Responsibilities Provide direct pediatric nursing care to children with developmental delays and disabilities under the supervision of an RN or provider Monitor vital signs, observe for changes in condition, and report concerns promptly to the clinical team Administer medications and treatments as ordered, following all safety and documentation protocols Support pediatric therapy sessions by assisting children, reinforcing therapeutic activities, and promoting a calm, engaging environment Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records, including health histories, care provided, and child/family responses Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to support individualized care plans Educate and support parents and caregivers on basic health needs, medication routines, safety, and ways to encourage developmental progress at home Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe clinical environment Participate in team meetings and case discussions, contributing nursing observations and recommendations Uphold The Warren Center's values of compassion, inclusion, and family-centered care in all interactions with children, families, and colleagues Required Skills Pediatric nursing Developmental screening and assessment Administering medications and treatments Vital signs monitoring Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Care planning and coordination Family and caregiver education Infection control and safety protocols Basic life support (BLS) Communication with interdisciplinary teams Patient advocacy Time management Observation and reporting of clinical changes Therapeutic play support Cultural competency
