PM Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our busy and fast paced Gastroenterology practice in the capacity of managing GI specific Medications and Infusion coordination as well as obtaining prior authorizations. The LPN will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinical coordination and organization of Infusion related operations. This position involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare providers, insurances, and administrative support. Duties include :- Contacting insurance companies and getting authorizations for GI specialty medications and infusions
- Work with infusion companies to coordinate appointments for patients.
- Able to educate patients on self-injections
- Act as a liaison between patients and providers, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Be proficient in EHR systems and a quick learner of new EHR's (electronic health records)
- Accurately document patient information, care provided, and any changes in condition in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and HIPPA standards
- Reliable with strong work ethic and able to multi-task.
Requirements:
- Current and Active New York State LPN license
- BLS Certification
- knowledge of GI, medical terminology and medication knowledge
- Experience obtaining medication prior authorizations
- GI experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
