  • RN or LPN No Fridays and Weekends | Private practice setting CNY Allergy Associates are seeking a compassionate, dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing private allergy practice.
This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys building relationships with patients, working in a fast-paced outpatient environment, and maintaining a better work-life balance. Allergy experience is preferred but not required. We are happy to train the right candidate with nursing experience, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Schedule and Location No Fridays or weekends Position is based in our Liverpool office Position Overview The Allergy Nurse will provide direct patient care, administer allergy injections, assist with allergy testing, prepare allergy serum, complete clinical documentation, and support the daily flow of the office. Our practice may serve up to 100 allergy injection patients per day, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety. Responsibilities Patient Care Greet and prepare patients for appointments and allergy treatments Obtain vital signs and review patient histories Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record Assist providers with physical examinations, allergy testing, and other office procedures Educate patients regarding allergy conditions, medications, treatments, and preventative care Respond to patient questions and provide clear follow-up instructions Allergy Injections and Treatment Administer allergy injections using proper dosage and injection techniques Verify patient identity, treatment orders, and serum prior to administration Monitor patients following injections for allergic reactions or side effects Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse reactions Provide post-treatment instructions and recommendations Prior Authorizations and Documentation Complete prior authorizations for medications, allergy treatments, testing, and injections Communicate with insurance companies regarding coverage and authorization issues Maintain accurate records for billing and clinical purposes Coordinate with the billing and administrative teams as needed Clinical and Administrative Support Assist with appointment scheduling and patient follow-up Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA Help maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical environment Assist with lab work, allergy testing, and additional office procedures Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and front-office staff to support efficient patient flow Qualifications Required Current and valid New York State RN or LPN license Strong communication and patient-care skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong attention to detail, particularly with medication preparation and documentation Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Preferred Previous Allergy and Immunology experience Experience administering injections Experience mixing or preparing allergy serum Previous experience in a specialty practice, physician office, or outpatient setting Experience with prior authorizations and insurance companies Experience using Medent or another electronic medical record system Benefits No weekend/Friday shifts Flexible weekday scheduling Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) with employer match Employee-sponsored events Supportive private-practice environment Specialty training available for the right candidate Join our team and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients managing allergies, asthma, and related conditions.
