GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The LPN/Classroom Assistant will be expected to provide health services to children while they are at the Me-Mun-See Hah-Kee-Hah-Kun "Our Children's Garden" Early Childhood Learning Center. Responsible for treating injuries, mild to acute sicknesses, dispensing medications, and communicating with parents and guardians, providing allowable information regarding their child's issue and health and wellness education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Provide basic healthcare to children in case of injury or illness Educate children, staff, and parents or guardians on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene Detect health problems in children through daily checks and observation Assist program Director in keeping track of children's vaccinations and medical history Assist with classroom responsibilities when needed, providing a nurturing learning environment for children in attendance Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have and maintain LPN license Ability to undertake a variety of medical/health tasks and work in a classroom setting Willing to continue education/training in Early Childhood Education, while maintaining LPN license. Knowledge of the OKDHS Child Care Licensing standards for health, safety and learning environments, as well as an awareness of applicable federal regulations from the Office of Child Care. Computer literate Excellent communication skills with adults and children Must possess and retain the following while employed. Valid Oklahoma Driver's License Pass drug testing requirements Pass National Criminal History Background Check Annual Child Care Staff Physical Current on required immunizations Obtain and maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification Obtain and maintain current Food Handler's Permit Complete 20 hours of Early Learning Child Care Training (ELCCT) within 90 days of hire Annual required professional development training
