Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for overnight shifts from 10 PM to 6 AM. This vital role involves providing compassionate, high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring safety and comfort for individuals across various care settings. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong clinical skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care. Monitor patients' conditions closely, managing acute pain and responding promptly to changes in health status. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies. Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and processing as needed to support accurate clinical decision-making. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions within memory or long-term care settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and patient education to promote optimal recovery and well-being. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing best practices across acute care environments such as ICU or emergency rooms. Skilled in IV infusion techniques, catheterization, sterile processing, and airway management including ventilator use. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient record management. Ability to perform triage assessments and provide first aid in urgent situations while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Experience in specialized areas such as hospice care, infectious disease management, or trauma centers is highly valued. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with caregivers and healthcare teams while delivering compassionate patient care.
