Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract position supporting a young elementary student as a dedicated 1:1 nurse. This assignment begins with an orientation on August 24 and continues through the end of the school year, offering consistent daytime hours—32 each week, Monday through Friday. You will play a vital role in a student's daily life and education setting. In this role, you'll work closely with a 7-year-old who requires full assistance with care needs, including toileting and mobility. The student has complex medical needs: a trach fistula that remains open, a Hensinger collar for airway maintenance, receives nutrition via G-tube and pump, and is non-weight bearing and wheelchair dependent. Communication occurs through facial cues, requiring attentiveness and compassion. Your responsibilities will extend to helping the student ride the bus—including morning pickup at 10 a.m.—ensuring safety and comfort throughout the journey and school day.
