Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal contract role providing essential medical and student support in a dynamic elementary school environment near Gettysburg, PA. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with students and staff, ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive learning atmosphere throughout the school year.
Key Qualifications:
Current, active LPN or LVN licensure Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric nursing environment preferred Ability to work efficiently in both team-based and independent settings Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families Flexibility to adapt to changing daily needs, including covering as 1:1 support Compassionate, dependable, and committed to student well-being
Core Responsibilities:
Provide daily assistance in the school health office, working alongside the school nurse Deliver direct care and respond to student health needs throughout the school day Serve as substitute support for students with one-on-one or PCA requirements when needed Aid with diabetic management, closely supporting the nurse with related students Maintain accurate health records and communicate updates with care teams as appropriate Promote a positive, caring environment dedicated to the physical and emotional safety of students This role covers a full 35-hour work week, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm through May 2027.
