This is a great opportunity for an LPN looking to work in an outpatient senior care setting with a consistent weekday schedule. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working collaboratively with providers and other members of the care team to support the needs of our senior patient population.
Location:
UPMC Senior Care - Messiah Lifeways 100 Mount Allen Drive, Suite 109 Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekends No holidays No on-call requirements May be asked to provide coverage at other clinic locations in the event of a staffing emergency
Purpose:
Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities:
Draw blood. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e.
OSHA, CLIA, PA
Department of Health). Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight. Comply with all policies and procedures. Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record. Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions. Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireClearances must be dated within 90 days Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Act 34 •Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
