Every other weekend off Major holidays required Sthenos Technologies is seeking Correctional Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for contract assignments at SCI Laurel Highlands in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The LPN will provide nursing care and treatment within a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections healthcare environment. Responsibilities Provide practical nursing care to inmates and patients Implement established nursing care plans Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments Observe and report changes in physical and emotional condition Take and record vital signs Collect clinical specimens Maintain progress notes and administrative nursing reports Perform medication calculations and medication administration Perform wound care, venipuncture, glucometer testing, EKGs, tuberculin testing, ostomy care and other approved LPN procedures Work within correctional healthcare and institutional security procedures May oversee unlicensed personnel within an assigned clinical area These duties are consistent with the Commonwealth correctional LPN specifications in the staffing document.
