We are committed to integrating innovative healthcare practices while maintaining a warm, supportive environment for seniors and individuals requiring rehabilitation services. Windber Woods Senior Living is offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full time LPN's. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience across various clinical settings. As an LPN at Windber Woods, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing services, supporting patient recovery, and ensuring comfort and safety for our residents. Duties Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Assist with patient assessments, documentation, and reporting changes in condition to the registered nurse or physician. Support residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, and feeding. Administer treatments such as IV infusions, injections, and catheter care while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in discharge planning, family communication, and health education efforts to promote optimal health outcomes. Skills Proven experience in medical-surgical nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings; critical care or ICU experience is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with
ICD-9/10
coding is advantageous. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to nursing practice. Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs measurement, specimen collection/processing, and basic life support (BLS). Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease; knowledge of memory care best practices. Ability to perform IV insertions, catheterizations, sterile procedures, and tube feedings competently. Excellent communication skills coupled with compassionate patient care approach; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
